While you may see coffee shops and espresso bars on every corner in most American cities, not all coffee is created equal. Less than 8% of the world's coffee meets the necessary requirements to be categorized as "Arabica Specialty" and at the Pony Expresso, that is all we roast. Coffee is a very serious substance and it is the second largest traded commodity in the world only next to oil! At Pony Expresso we roast over an open flame because we believe it provides us the optimum control over the roasting process. Depending on specific varietals or personal preference, working in small 5-10 lb batches allows us some room for creativity and customer requests. Our coffee offerings constantly vary due to seasonal changes, global economics and our own sourcing abilities. We offer a diverse variety of single origin coffees always of the highest grade and at the best price possible. We feel a great sense of accomplishment and pride in our small artisan batch roasting of some of the world's finest coffee beans. If you are interested in trying our coffee but can't get to the Yosemite area please call as we are happy to and encourage special orders via the phone and mail service. Our overall goal at the Pony Expresso is to share our love and knowledge of specialty coffee with you and to always do our best to provide our customers with a comfortable atmosphere, the highest quality beans available and to have a good time while doing it all.
